My prison
The bars between us,
the shackles to my ankles holding me back,
my willingness to break the rules for you,
the torture I feel in my cold cell with you sleeping far far away,
what I do not know will hurt me with wonder,
what I can not tell you will kill me with suppression,
the cement wall between will never be breached
but only dreamt about in far away fantasies,
Sleepless nights surround me with endless cycles of nothingness,
nothingness may carry hope but will only last until the final ring of the awakening,
the torture coincides with the routines of my fate toward death,
my knowledge of where I am to report at every moment is without my love,
without my soul, without my destiny, my freedom, my love
I do wish to be free from the constraints and hold you once more without threat.
Second draft: Free me my love
The bars between us,
the shackles to my ankles holding me back,
my knowledge of where I am to report at every moment is without my love,
without my soul, without my destiny, my freedom, my love
my willingness to break the rules for you,
the torture I feel in my cold cell with you sleeping far far away,
what I do not know will hurt me with wonder,
what I cannot tell you will kill me with suppression,
the cement wall between us will never be breached
but only dreamt about in far away fantasies,
Sleepless nights surround me with endless cycles of nothingness,
nothingness may carry hope but will only last until the final ring of the awakening,
the torture coincides with the routines of my fate toward death,
I do wish to be free from those constraints,
Hold you once more without threat,
So free me you foul, who hold the power I wish you leave behind,
Free me or leave me for my heart will not sit in a cell till death.

This is a really good poem!...and you said you were bad at them. The metaphors and visuals you provide are wonderful!;)
